Today
we left Jackson Hole WY but didn't get away till 2.00 pm as Marks tyre arrived
late and finally got fitted.
A
good ride out but for the last 3 days there has been this haze all around the
mountains from the big fires in Idaho and Montana. This has been the hottest and driest summer they have had
since records were started.
Great
ride out through the mountains then we hit desert and it went on and on with a
few towns here and there. One we
came to had a population of 1400 people but there were about 5 multi complex
hotel/motels and 3 of them looked new.
Why any one would stay there I wouldn't have a clue.
Today
we rode 170 miles which took us 2.5 hours. On the way Dave
got a ticket - $140.00 for speeding which he has to pay before he leaves the
country.
The
KOA Camping is not much but is cheap so we got a cabin as the last 2 days have
blown our budget and today is an non-alcohol day (hold it Dave found a Bud). Only 1 each so something to wash our
meal down with.
The
haze here is real bad as we are down in a basin but the sunset was like you see
in Si Fi films. The sun was just a
round red ball slowly going down behind the barren landscape.
Went
to the supermarket tonight to get our tea as sick of eating out and we all
wanted fruit and some thing healthy, very nice.
Tomorrow
head to Moab this will be 332 miles about 6 hrs riding. Surprisingly I am not getting a sore
butt with all this riding so either the Harley seat is kind to me or all the
squash I have been playing has turned my butt into balls of steel (am going
with second).
